This drawing was inspired by a dream I had, where I was arranging flowers in a vase and a balloon was tied to the vase, but it was losing its helium, so it was falling to the table which made me sad. A very simple dream, but I liked the idea of a still life being a little bit weird with a balloon in it, and just the hand of someone out of frame. I really like doing simple drawings lately, but with lots of color and pencil marks. It's not done yet, or maybe it is? I like to think of my new drawings as brutalist. Brutalist art and architecture is some of my favorite.
