The best is yet to come

That kimono drawing I did... Well I finished it, but I don't like it. Just thought I'd add an update about that. It's ok; not every idea can be a success. But this drawing, inspired by the women of Mexico, I love. I feel like it's more the style I want to have for my art-- simple and bold, and a focus on shapes and fabric textures.

The idea started when I wanted to do a series of women based on the shape of numbers. This one is obviously based on number 7. I looked up pictures of women in fabric headdresses, and was drawn to the Mexican women, with their bright colors and ribbons and braids.
